It may be the same problem I had.
Is it the "same" as the seatbelt warning?
It is a factory feature that is meant to be turned off before they are sold. OH&S stuff when they're being driven off the factory floor.
Get it fixed at a dealership, refuse to pay. It is a 100% Ford f^%$ up.
The chances of an owner DIYing the problem into existence is pretty damn low.
