Default How many 2 door e-series are there?

I know theres the Scorcher? floating around but what about any others. I have never seen an ef/el 2 door.

Reason i ask is i found this in the trading post.

This is the one that appeared in Street Fords

It appeared in Issue 20, the same issue that LTDHO appeared in. It seems to have been created by the same people who created the Sony Scorcher. Even the orange paint is similar!

And in this thread, you'll find pics of the Sony Scorcher

Looks good but i think it needs a 1.5"-2" chop top to get the proportions right. The quarter window looks too tall.

scorcher was made by street machine magazine, and was a 1 off...however they had a couple of companies onside who made various things for sale, like the glass and the bodykit....... and with the right body work experience anyone can knock one of these up if they have the glass to go in.....
just my take on it anyway

as for that exact car thats for sale,......would be nice but have fun getting it on the road.... the 2 door conversion might be easy enough to get legal butthe turbo i'd think not........ and remember, you need a RWC before you can get rego

Both of those 2 doors look crap! Especially the sony scorcher, from the back it looks so much like a skyline.
Theres just something about that rear quarter window that dosent look right.

In that street machine article they said that they thought the scorcher was the only 2 door, so ur not likely to find any others out there!

I was working near Tenterfield (northern NSW) a few years back and there was this mob in town that were doing 2 door conversions to Falcons. I can't remember their name but it was something like Hillier Conversions. There was usually a red 2 door AU parked out the front. Also saw a 2 door EA there once. I saw a green AU they did in a magazine ( ? - Street Machine) a couple of years ago. Not sure if they did other models as well but no reason not to.

I'll dig up the article from Street Fords when I get back to Melbourne and scan it up. From what I recall, the company that worked with Street Machine to build the Scorcher built a few extra bodies. The original Sony Scorcher is an EA, but the one that appeared in Street Fords is an EB (although it has EA taillights to match the Scorcher garnish and rear bumper)

Yeah, Hillier conversions did a few 2-door AUs. They did a green one, and a red one. I'm pretty sure they were also responsible for the 300+ concept. Also, one of those original two coupes was turned into the Hillier Autotek Arrow concept

Not quite. Sony Scorcher was a 'one-off' built from an all-good EA GL five-speed 3.9 SP, but there was three sets of glass made. One set went into the Street Machine Magazine original and the other two sets were stored: one went into Scorcher when one glass was damaged while the other set was later supplied to Bennett Supercars (Paul Bennett) in Sydney to build a second 'Scorcher' two-door which - by the looks of the pics in SF - also has a 'Scorcher' body kit as well. The current owner of Scorcher has, I believe, had extra glass made so doing a DIY Scorcher two-door hardtop may still be possible!

yep, inspired by Scorcher and a later AU 'Expression Session' drawing in Street Machine, the Hilliers in Tenterfield NSW built a few two-doors based on AUs. The first was a green six-pot (it was a cop-spec Forte) and one red XR8 (also ex-cop). The green one ended up being supplied to Ford Australia and Millard Design for conversion into the bright red '300+' Ford 4.6-litre V8 show coupe that was seen at the Melbourne Motor Show. The AutoTek coupe was the third, built later from an auction-sourced car, and with a more radical angle in the windowline/profile.
Hope this information helps!
