Default Quick: help please - handbrake problem

Gidday.
Need a little problem fixed in a hurry. Advice please.
Had the handbrake adjusted on my wife's new AU 1, this morning as final part of roadworthy. On driving it, no accelleration, and squeek in rear axel. Feels to me to be over adjusted. Mechanic has knocked off for the day & cannot be contacted. Vehicle required for work tonight. Going thru juice like no tomrrow & probably overheating new rear disks.
Someone like to give me a quick lesson on how to back them off a wee bit. Never adjusted handbrake before. Thanks
