Default Observation Rally - Sunday June 29

Dust off your road maps and sharpen up your observation skills - the 2008 Observation Rally is being held on Sunday June 29.

These events have always been a heap of fun, combining driving, running around like a maniac and the chance to win great prizes! Basically, you follow a set course around Canberra and search for clues along the way - the team with the most correct answers at the end is the winner. We'll have prizes for first, second and third places and there'll be a BBQ lunch at the finish.

DATE: Sunday June 29
START LOCATION: Black Mountain Peninsular. Get there at 10am - the first car will head off at 10.30
FINISH LOCATION: ???
DURATION: Approx 2.5 hours

Its quite compact... Not alot of km to travel.... nobody should get lost but if you do you can ask a policeman as you may come across a few of these...

It would be nice to get a good group of members to attend this event as their have been a couple of the events committee put a fair bit of effort into organizing the run.

I will be attending the event but not doing the run. ( as I have already tested it )

I'll be in Sydney that weekend I'm afraid. Was keen for it before the date was moved.

Keep the replies coming in - would be great to get a few more cars along, if for no other reason than to keep Vic out of the prizes! :

Was a really good day, even though I didn't win. Each year I think "this will be my year", but it's not to be. Thank you guys for the organisation.

You could hold your own event Vic and not tell anyone else - you'd cleanup then.

On a serious note, I missed another event so any pics of the day?

Congratulations to our rally winners:

1st - Chris, Janice and team
2nd - Pat, Sharon and team
3rd - Karen, Brent and Jack

I think everyone had a good time and hopefully saw a few bits of Canberra they hadn't seen before!

A few pics of the day (thanks Jim!):
