Default Right rear noise, split exhaust hanger, related?

Hi all, how are we! My AU has just started to develop a tonk, tonk, tonk sound right rear, going right around roundabouts. Also noticed the last rear exhaust hanger rubber holder has got a split in it, just wondering if related. Have you ever heard that sound in a AU before. Thanks for any input!

cheers, Maka

Just tested it while out for a drive & its not the exhaust. That leaves a couple of other things to check now. Very interesting!

Diff or handbrake i think, needs closer inspection. Inspected the shocks they are good, springs probably a bit old now though. I should find the issue soon.

Hey mate I think I have the same issue, got my diff replaced and handbrake adjusted...suffice to say the handbrake is useless again! Typical falcon! But I have that noise, I only heard it when braking under 30km/h but it has become more prominent now, I'd suspect handbrake first as my diff is brand new besides the housing and yoke!

Let us know how you go I haven't had a chance to get it sorted it.

Ha ha, no noise this morning doh, so its intermittent. Yesterday i dismantled some stuff to have a look see & i securely fitted the rrh shock body plastic protective sheath which was pretty loose fitting & the handbrake cable is zipped tied near were the cable goes into the brake hub but rubbing against the diff housing, so its floating & moving a bit.

The sound is bit hollow sounding though so its a little clue i think, i'll keep ya posted!

cheers, Maka

Its fixed for now i reckon, spare is tightened down properly, boot emptied of not needed tools & stuff, rrh shock is fine now, exhaust hanger rubber holder fine now, handbrake cable routing all good now.

The noise was serious at first & getting worse but all good now.

cheers, Maka
