Hey Matto, when i picked up my ute back in late june, the salesman conceded that the state manager had recently visited sites with some info on the new cars that only the manager was privy to, he didn't even know anything. I wouldn't go running off to another dealer because of that.

I agree. They should've stuck to the original name they had for it, AV Falcon.

No they should not have at all stuck with AV Falcon. AV had too close connection to the massive failure of the AU Falcon. BA was the right choice.

IT'S THERE!!!!!

i just had a look through my news paper i got at school on page 19 there is a large add with the front of the BF

and the ad says

in DRIVE tomorrow, first drive of ford's big sedan update - the BF falcon

the BF is nothing special only the scoops on the bumper are changed in the pic i have here, still looks like a BA though

I think that "BF" is a good progression in the B series naming structure. BB, BC, BD and BE sound a bit too awkward, but they also have a lot of unwanted associations.

Going back to the A series would be marketing suicide, and especially confusing for the public.

Ya, I can imagine the marketting campaign behind the BC falcon, with the most advanced suspension on any australian built sedan....

Still, it's funnier than the "You'd be popular too" campaign.

I thought Drive came out on Thursday's Age?

Don't know if it's enough to take on the VE but it's an improvment nevertheless

Better things to worry about the any 2 letter name, like can Ford deliver a tough as pickaxes auto for similar amounts of folding $$. I'm hoping I wont be dissapointed.

Mine's a March 03 build, about 58000 kms. Good to know you're not experiencing it, bathurst.

You will probably find that they only release information regarding what the new model will contain. They won't actually be in the showrooms until October.

It looks like it has got some of the previous Ford Focus design cues around the front bumper, other than that it looks like they couldn't be bothered. However I will reserve my better judgement until I have seen more pics of the BF...

You are quite right. With the exception of the horizontal bar running through the middle of the lower bumper opening, it looks very much the same. it:

Need more pix I guess.
If you took dead front on pics of XR and XT or XW/XY XA/XB XD/XE EA/EB EF/EL you would say, looks like no real change, from the front of an EA to EB it is only the position of the oval that differs.

But someties under the skin there are some worthwhile changes.

OH well my last night of owning latest model Falcon, I shal tear up some hundred dollar notes to mark suddden depreciation.
