Maybe Ford Australia don't need them to sell to men.
But I think Ford's strategy is to increase sales to women....Thus using Tara Moss as a role model or brand Ambassador.

I've noticed lately that in the two Melbourne Mustang clubs I'm a member of, the Mustangs owned by female members is on the rise.

It’s been my experience that all you need to do is get your woman into a Mustang, that’s the hardest part, from there on the Mustang does the work, so well in fact that I can barely get her out of it so I can get in it

I like the ads

Not in my case - I gave my wife a drive of mine the day I got it.

Good for me she didn’t like it !(otherwise I would have needed to put on OTT stripes - she hates stripes)

My kids love it though !

Yes - they’re a strange breed

Mine rolls her eyes every time the postman delivers me another package - which has been kind of frequently lately

The Nanny Staters are still convulsing over the federal election loss, any advertising standards board should be defunded and the complainants given the middle finger if they don't like the ad.

Ford should have "Burnout mode" enabled on new Mustangs as well.

The new Camaro is going to keep it’s burnout mode. I wonder if the road trauma nannies will run with that story like they did when they found out the Mustang was going to get it? Ford removed it in australia because of the sooks.

I see that season three of the Handmaid's Tale on SBS is being sponsored by the Ford Mustang and that these ads are airing every ad break.

I still think this was the best TV commercial Ford ever made for the Mustang.

Yes, every *&%$K_@# ad break. What the hell advertising people.

If I ever did want a Mustang (I didn't) I sure as hell don't now, I'm over it.

How annoying was that. Worse than Clive Palmer ads (almost)

Though Tara Moss was much nicer to look at

What did I learn?

Mustang = makes nice noises if you accelerate along a straight road whilst in an isolated desert. Mustang drivers don't care what others think.

I'm not sure "good" ads sell cars either....
Good panel gaps , no overspray and short wait times with excellent dealer delivery and capped service options with 7 year minimum warranty does.

I think the commercial hits a home run on all of the above.
Says the person who already owns a Mustang

Did you ever watch the movie "Dave"? There's a scene where he attacks a government advertising campaign that is designed to make people feel better about American Cars they have already bought.

Does anything in that ad give you a (new) desire to own two Mustangs??

Who is the target audience?

If I try to look at it, as hypothetically somebody who is not a Ford aficionado and Mustang Lover, I get the following:
It reinforces the negative stereotype of American Muscle-cars as being noisy and only fast in a straight line.
As a male, I am offended that they think sticking a beautiful woman in the car makes it more attractive.
As a female, I would be horrified that they think sticking a women in the drivers seat suddenly makes it more appealing to women buyers.

The fact that Moss is apparently a Mustang lover of some note, is literally completely and utterly pointless.

I don't know, perhaps the modern aim of such ads is to get people to google Moss and Mustangs?? Maybe that works.

NB: I would be far more impressed, on both counts, if they had used say Sabine Schmitz booting around the N-ring.

I must admit. The Camaro has that Super Charger wine and the ballsy exhaust note. Does sound good!

I think the AD is great and loved it from the first time I saw it on TV.

I know several women who own a Mustang - both GT and Ecoboost versions and I know several others who would love to own one if there family situation was different. They are not petrol heads or anything like that - simply love the design/shape and heritage it represents.

I just think the car looks great, sounds great, but I don’t deem it necessary to include a tacky, irrelevant and aging model or whoever she was to be included. I think the car sells itself and more of the car and that noise would be fine enough
