On October 1st the national time phone number will be switched off forever. I know a lot of younger people have never heard of it but a lot of us older gents used it in our younger years.
It’s the local time, and has been in service for the last 65 years. 1194 and can be called from any phone free of charge. It’s been used to keep track of time clocks at work among many other things. Now with everyone using a mobile phone and having the time set by your provider there’s no use for it anymore. Have just tried to ring and it’s not answering the reason being is Telstra use the service and the time on my phone is not correct
