Head gasket usually blows every 100-150 thousand k's. (If looked after proerly should last ages)

Brake switch (forgot exactly what it's called)

That's all I know of.

Head gaskets yup thats one and the brake switch both correct also the ed may make you become sexified in the eyes of women so be careful on that one.

BCM is body control module. If its not broken dont worry about checking it. Transmission could be another thing to watch out for. Just take it for a drive. See if it shifts smoothly. I'd recommend getting an auto service. Unless your lucky enough to have a T5. Head gaskets dont always go every 100 to 150,000 as previously stated. They go when ever they go. Im on 329,000 and stil original. Just check to see that its not loosing coolant or the oil isn't a milky colour

ED's don't have a BCM, I think you are talking about the Smartlock Module.

so for example if i had a ed fairmont smart lock module if i went to put another ed fairmont smartlock module do i have to get that linked to the ecu and ign barrel for the engine to start or if i replaced the ign barrel would i have to get that linked or if i had a new ecu would i have to get that linked so do the ign barrels, ecus, and smartlock modules have to be programed together for the engine to start
