Yes, generally the "cheaper" Euro cars cost more- but aren't built to quite the same high quality standards.

A heads up on that spy pic at the start of page one. First of all it's an photoshop based off a photo that had heavy padding (camo), so far there hasn't been a Mondeo mule completely uncovered. So bear in mind that while it might be close it's not at 100%.

Those who have seen Mondeo mules in the flesh have commented that it's grown in size compared to the current model. It's probably getting too close to the Falcon for Australian consumption.

i really doubt it has been photoshopped the lines are too good to have been and its over all look is too good to have been faked, plus obviousthings such as badging have been left covered and the door handleshave slight covering in them, clearly indicating t me thi is an unphotoshopped image.

I have to disagree, as someone that has a lot of experience in photo re-touching, automotive design and illustration I can tell wether an image has been re-touched or not.

If you look hard enough you can see where the paintwork appears to be clouded (airbrushed) and the shut-lines have been sprayed over (especially around the tail lights). I could name an entire list of things that could of been done better.

Remember quite often car companies use digital photo touch up specialists for converting brochures that have been originally created for LHD markets into RHD format - the level of detail has to be immaculate to the point where even I find hard to see the difference.

They have left the tape on the badges to give the impression that it is a genuine uncovered world scoop.

To be honest I think the photoshop job looks crap.

The car in the feature is not the mondeo mk3 it is the new mk4, the mk 3 looks like a larger version of the new focus.

no no its the real mk 3 because the supposed mark 2 was only a make over of the mk 1 hence not really a new mark, if you get what i mean.

was it? Dad owned a mark 1 and it was presented and proportioned nothing like the present model, although the skin is hardly a fair judge of engineering ;)

Well if you go by the mondeo enthusists group the mk2 is the one with the altered front and rear lights. The mk3 is the one that looks like the focus, it is the same as the golf, the car still look the same as you go through the different years. It is just that the designers come up with a use for new and improved parts. So in australia we have a mk1 and mk2, then ford looked elswhere for cheap crap.
