Thanks Natedog. This will help if the inner diameter of the wheel is the same as my stock GT 19" rim. Should give me a starting point.

Hey Brett,

If they fit 18s im really keen. If need be i can drive up and test fit and bring one of my old factory 19s to see if they fit as well.

Cheers,
Luke

These are the stock FPV 19's with the shockworks kit on it, it has 16mm clearance from caliper to inside circumference of wheel, photo attached, so if its the same as your GT rims then you can accurately measure the difference in size with the wheels you have on now I guess....assuming you still have the old Gt 19" wheels somewhere?

I just did a measurement as accurate as I could and I have 21mm clearance with the Brembo 4 pot and stock GT rim, putting the 18" on that is reduced to about 7mm. It will be really cutting it fine lol

I would need to do a test fit before buying to be comfortable with fitment some how.

I had to give Brett his test brake kit yesterday and in went my old worn out little rotors.

After driving them around through every day stop start, freeway and a few hard braking tests, all I can do is highly recommend these kits once they are released next month!

The street/track pads that I tested were not dusty.

They were not squealy hot or cold.

The pads did not need heat up to work from cold starts like some street/track pads require.

They did not fade....even with me trying to get them to.....all I did was destroy my rear pads!!!! Poor little rotors, they were coming to the end of their lives anyway :-)

My order is in, I am definitely getting the Shockworks brake kit.

When the Shockworks kit was taken off there was no hint of any higher than normal wear from me "trying" to get them to fade on a couple "test" sessions.

Pedal feel is progressive and predictable, there is no hint of them being unpredictably "grabby" at any speed hot or cold.

Awesome front brake upgrade for the $$$

I must thank Brett for letting me test the kit out.....the fact he was willing to lend them to me to try and beat them up a bit after only having met him a month earlier??

Shows the faith he has in the product to lend them to a stranger basically... and he's a good bloke!

Nathan

Hi Guy's,

We did some measurements on the brake calliper and rotor and from the centre of the hub to the outside of the calliper is 207.5mm. This should help to understand what rims will fit with our brake upgrade.
Cheers

Hi guys, looking good, very impressive how quick you've got this kit to market!!

Say, do you know how much this kit weighs, compared to the factory 355mm/4pot Brembos?

Also, is it lighter or heavier than the 355mm dba 5000 series 2 piece rotor?

Cheers

Hey Shonkymofo,
We don't have a DBA rotor to compare the weights so a bit hard to say. I know we are around 2 Kg lighter than the factory disc. I will get my hands on a Brembo caliper and compare the difference.
We were able to get to market quickly as we already supply brakes through our Korean partner who support many race teams and also supply brake upgrade for many models in their market.
Cheers

Nice one, thanks.

Totally understandable that you don't have a dba rotor, but do you know the exact weight of your rotor?

Hi Brendan,
We are expecting the brakes by the end of the month as they are being prepared for shipping now via sea. We will be airfreighting in a couple of sets but will split the difference in the cost of this if the demand requires this.

We now have the Goodridge/braided line upgrade as an option for the caliper for $180

Cheers

Just wondering in terms of replacements pads for these, whether they use a generic pad design and are able use replacement pads from other brands (e.g ferodo, bendix, ebc)
cheers

Hi,
I am not sure about the Ferodo or Bendix and looking into this now. If we find something, I will post some part numbers. It is a caliper supplied by Hyundai so will be able to get a part number for there replacement. We are importing many sets of pads for the street and track. We are also working with Howard Reynolds at Race Brakes to make a replacement pad that will be available for both street and track.
Will update what we find soon.
Cheers

Same question but with the rotors? Can a generic dba rotor be able to fit? Congrats on the product and look forward to its release.

Bit disappointed about lack of information over the last 4 weeks. Nothing about the early sets that were going to be sent. Or the delay. Weren't these suppose to be available last month.

Hey Brendan,
Sorry for the info slowing down mate. I have been in Korea for the past three weeks testing and catching up while back for the last couple of days.
The ship has arrived and we will have full stocks of the brake kits next week. There will be a slight delay on the floating rotor assembly as I was not happy with the pin design and are being air freighted on the 22nd. The fixed rotor and calliper will be ready for sale next week though.
Cheers

That is something we will check first before I get carried away. We made the brake upgrade to suit the same offset with the Brembo disc but will test first before I say yes!!

Hi all,

I am getting the Shockworks brake kit put in next Wednesday, looking forward to some real stopping power compared to the stock calipers I've been thrashing round the track.

Poor little discs......

:-)

Will load up some pics once done

Hey Pepscorba,
We have a different design that suits the Brembo calliper. The Brembo has a smaller disc contact area than our calliper so made a new design for the Brembo's. The Brembo has 57mm of disc contact and our new calliper has 61mm so we have both types.

Hey brendan,
We have plenty in the black and think it looks very cool for the first time on Natdog's car. We will also offer a couple of options for the colour of the alloy hat like a gun blue and the gold. That will be later in the year once we finish the other Ford range we are working on.

Cheers
