Hi Jim and welcome to the forum.

Mate perhaps a little more detail might assist to help track it down. Which state and what area did you live in when you got rid of it and how long ago? Also the body/trim colours and any other options could help jog memories.

Cheers mate and good luck with your search.

Russ.

Yes my apologies, information is helpful, doh. I was living in Tullamarine Victoria when this car was sold, in around 1997-1999? A Father/son bought it. The interior was grey, it had been restored from the chassis up & therefore was in great condition. It had a white roof & dark blue body. From memory it had a Windsor motor? Again in good nick. It had the LPG option , column shift automatic. Again my apologies for the lack of info, hoping this might jog someone’s memory, and yep, Victorian black & white plates were IOW 555. Cheers, Tim

We have something called Carjam in NZ, where you can run a cars plate and get basic info on car, if it's legal, mileage or any money owing. Does Aussie have some thing similar at lest you would know if the car is still around not wrecked.

Hello Jim,
May I ask the reason you want to find this car?
Sentimental, or family, or ya brother was an international jewel thief, and hid diamonds etc behind a door panel?
Just jokin mate, but still intrigued as to why?

Hi slowsnake, very amusing, but it’s my son who has very find memories of the comfort of the car & would adore getting it back in the family, or in his shed to be precise!! Of course I’d very much like it back too. Can’t find it under the original plates in Australia, so after I’ve found the VIN I might find it was wrecked?? Cheers

If you have any old data of the VIN, you could try the old rego and do a PPSR check for a few dollars.

So my son has gone ahead & bought a ‘77 ZH Fairlane 351. He’s researched several Ford clubs in Victoria, these being on the Racv listings, but he’s keen to know if there’s a specific Ford Fairlane club? Any help would be appreciated, cheers.

Cool bananas, hope he enjoys owning and driving it, and servicing it, and washing it, and polishing it, and worrying about it parked at the shops, lol.
Its another one saved, and a good investment to boot!

Cheers slowsnake

Absolutely right slowsnake, another one saved from the wreckers! Yes he’s always looked after his “stuff”, & as he grew up in at least 4 Fairlane in the family, ours was the 302 ‘76, my in-laws had the ‘77 Marquis 351 & a ‘78 LTD. plus my brother in law had one but forget which model. Memories galore around the corner.

Was reading my paper copy of August 2021 issue of Just Cars, and on the inside back pages the Healey Factory has a Maroon 1978 ZH Fairlane for sale, 302 auto, dual fuel with a "superb history" $15,000 ECG.
If I had the cash I would buy it myself, looks pretty good in photo, better than good!

Cheers Billy
