Jimny (both old and new) are very popular here, and a brilliant vehicle for our terrain!
Nice and light for boggy stuff and nimble as, up the mountains.
We have the usual “bigger is better” gringos that import their 4x4 F150’s, F250’s, Ram Chargers etc here that are soon parked up, and Wifeys Jimny becomes their dailys (especially in wet season!)

I saw that, seems like perfect time to buy was on launch before the massive price inflation hit.

Surely because of its popularity they'd increase production numbers? I think we're only getting 1100 for the year or something silly.

They are popular with motor home owners perfect for flat towing.

There's been a couple of developments with the Defender, 2021 model is all Inline 6. Two diesels, two petrols. This really suits it.

Here's farmer Harry chopping up his paddocks in a P400 (good review):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHu8VJkR9Ag

12:08 fangs it past some stunned Alpacas (or Llamas?)

18:00, 19:16: engine note as floors it - nice!

Here's one in the Canadian Arctic testing Cooper Discover AT3s, also the way the ABS works in the snow was explained well:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okDCAjIYiwM

Overall, the car looks to be something special, and very capable. JLR is on a winner with a range of different flavoured AWDs powered by great new I6s.

I'm loving the sound of the new JLR Inline 6.

I wish they would start putting that powertrain in the Jaguar range, salivating at thought of a F-Type or XE with that engine.

So nice! Perks of the job...

DFB have no fear, the I6's will come to Jags, surely. An F-Pace with the P400 motor, wow. Turbo Terry successor.

As for the Defender, I was surprised how well it handled when Harry was giving it a go on his favourite handling road (I think he's in Northamptonshire? He founded Evo mag and has a garage full of supercars btw)

A handling, petrol I6, full time AWD. Hmmm. Happy days for Territory owners still wondering what to upgrade to - only the things are about 2x to 3x the price!

There's also something really right about being able to buy a car with a 294Kw I6, with a front bench seat, and rubber floor mats. Feels really old school (and heaps practical too)

There is something so right about a Jag with a straight 6.

My thoughts exactly, which makes it absence in their sedan/coupe range somewhat disappointing.

I have to disagree here, Jag and V12 go together well............just so long as they don't have Lucas electrics

You can get the I6 petrol in the F-Pace

https://www.carexpert.com.au/car-new...cing-and-specs

$97,400 (when range starts at 74K, d'oh!)

XE and XF are 2.0 petrol 4cyl only (but AWD, with truly beaut interior updates), surely they'd love an I6? F-Type doesn't seem to have it either.

Maybe they are rolling it out. Jags with either electric or I6's would be a great way to do the decade. Gotta say, I'm a fan, particularly the new interiors. If the Falcon and Terry were allowed to evolve, they would probably be quite like these are.

Defender 90 in some very slippery, muddy and at times steep tracks:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cdxifApLsQ

Traction control braking wheels and partly sliding down some of the inclines... Will it survive that last big length of water?

Going where? To the workshop on a tilt tray?
Sorry, couldn't help it. My favourite car of all time is a V12 E type.
If I ever win lotto it won't be a GTHO for me but an E type.

Grandad had 2 successive XJ6s in London, they were superb cars and I was young and impressionable. It's always been a goal to have an I6 Jag and while they have had V6, I4 and V8, those just aren't the same as his XK inline 6s. Now I can get them new, new generation, new inline 6 Jags.

Probably not, but have you tried the V6? I have an XE S, and SC V6 is fantastic. Smooth and has a great note.

The supercharged V6 in the XE, RRS was a great motor, great growl, but I'm more excited they've done an in-house I6. Hope you enjoy your XE-S.
