Looking to buy one.
Who's got one and what type? My brother has a water one and it's pretty solid but pricey compared to some magnetic ones. Obviously you get what you pay for. Some reviews of the cheaper magnetic ones say there is very little resistance even at the maximum setting. I need one to suit 3 different sized people. I'm 188cm and wife is about 160cm with a daughter in between. I assume they all would suit but just asking in case some don't. Don't mind spending up toward $1000.

Get a concept 2, if you can find one. Water rower would be my next option.
Concept 2, built like a tank and will last forever.

Bought this one. Couldn't afford even a second hand concept 2. These reviewed quite well. Given multiple people will be using it I went with this type over the water rower as its easier to adjust the resistance.

Rebel rower looks good prydey. I bought a 2nd hand Concept 2 E about 10 years ago. I pulled it apart, to clean/service it. Quite a simple design.
Your rower looks similar. Better looking machine than mine, though. (New Concept Rowerg machines look alright too) Gym equipment all went up in price, during Covid lockdowns, last year. Prices have stayed that way. |

Nordictrack stuff is pretty capable, you won’t have any issues there.
I think that one is cheaper then the one they had at Costco a few weeks back.

Bought a second hand concept 2 model D today with PM4.
I'm a victim of 'poor man pays twice' or 'buy nice or buy twice'. It didn't really cost me financially as I was able to get a refund on the first one but should have bought a concept 2 to start with. They are the standard for a reason. Anyone looking for a single piece of equipment to use for indoor training /exercise /fitness /weight loss /whatever.. Highly recommend these machines.

There is still at least a 5 week wait on a new concept 2 and I'm not good with waiting. There not much difference in price buying second hand but mechanically they haven't changed in years. The monitor on the one I bought is the previous generation but only really misses Bluetooth. It's like new and only done 123000 metres which is nothing. I clocked up that on the other one in a month.
