That can’t be right, as i know it failed the first drive by noise test at the pg. And they had to rework it to get it to pass. Even then they weren’t sure it would make it.

Cars are still sold through Ford, so i can’t see how Herrods involvement changes compliance requirements.

Why are the vehicles registered as Herrod Mustang, not Ford Mustang and carry the 2nd stage manufactured compliance plate....

So they can get around certain ADR's, otherwise Ford would just have done it on its own.

Who sells them has nothing to do with it.

Im sure it will be a cool little story when we are all driving EV's one day. Like a guy doing a dodgy RWC in your drive way with a suit on?

All well and good, but I know for a fact it still needed to do drive by noise testing. And it failed the first time. Project got stopped. Then it was brought back later for one last go.

Might also be a case of Ford needing it to pass internal testing before it went on sale. There are other internal tests done outside the adr's that they need to pass before it gets released for sale. The vehicle has passed drive by noise anyway.

I do like the car but I tend to agree with the review.

Interesting the "need" for the tremec with only another 6kws.

I also like the prices they offer, if you can get one south of $95k your doing well , especially in todays infleted market, and most will no doubt sell past that just like the $74k Bullitt that sold just under the $90k mark and even more. Nice car the Mach 1 just don't know if it justifies the extra premium but they will be hard to get, as will all Mustangs, for some time. I could honestly sell mine for a god premium over purchase price but why would I do that as ther is noting much else in the price range that offers the noise and fun.
If any of you are lucky to get one you won't , I am sure be disappointed and I envy you.

Its a good package but I would love to see a track comparison/lap times vs a standard 5.0

"10-speed automatic, which has been significantly upgraded with its own air-to-oil cooler designed to cope with the rigours of heavy work on the track."

Sign of the times where an automatic car is purchased to do track work..

Id say a good set of race tyres would make more difference

It's not about the power but rather how it's delivered through the box. The ratios of the 3160 is similar to getting a 3.73 diff on the 18+. So the 3.55 with this box is great.

Shifts are fantastic on this box as well and it can take a lot more punishment than the Getrag.

With on roads, etc, you're looking at $92k driveway without Recaros in NSW with a realistic $1695 dealer delivery. I've got mine around that number for a manual velocity blue. That said, without the diff and other features, I feel the car is now about $5 k overpriced.

Thanks mate but kinda disenchanted with all the revisions that are coming out. Not sure I'll go ahead with the purchase honestly. Just too many things getting removed and I can't see $20 k worth of upgrades anymore in the car.

Ford need to revise pricing. The diff alone is $5 k locally.

Its an absolute let down period !
Now getting worse.....
Ford is clipping the ticket here in Oz, tribute LE light weight version that is very sad.
I consider Mach1 a Legend and kypez knows I also put my hand up to our Dealer.
Upon pricing and getting nothing like whats on offer in the US as usual we get the less is more kind of stratergy.
No way is this worth the extra of a standard GT.

Ford are apparently putting something out soon with respect to all the components left out. I'm waiting to see what they say before I decide if I go ahead or not. Good thing about ordering for later in the year is that I have time to let the dust settle before having to pull the pin.

If they throw in the rear spoiler, gurney flap, adjustable strut mounts, strut brace and front spoiler with the words "for race track use only", I'd be a little forgiving. Saves them from having to Crash test stuff as well.

They have royally f'd the pooch on this one...its poor form.

Track day's used to be standard for FPV's around the same price? And then they want to encourage track time when its missing the bits that make it a "track" car...they have lost the plot.

I must of missed it, people blaming ADR's but whats that got to do with the bits taken out that are not cosmetic?

Updated today to 3 services and the Track day.

Given some people paid $90k for a Bullitt, its still good value at $93k for me with the extra parts we get over the Bullitt. So its not too bad.

The other thought is if I bought a standard GT and modified it with all the Mach 1 bits, I still couldn't get the car for less than the retail price of the Mach 1 as it stands.

GT with Magnaride - $69k
Diff Cooler - $5k (yes, I almost fell off my chair!)
Wider Wheels - $2k
Oil/Tranny Cooler - $1000
Sway bars and other bits - $2500
Tremec Box - $6k plus getting the computer to work correctly
Aero bits and GT500 diffuser - $2k
Exhaust - $3k
GT350 intake - $2k

So roughly $92k worth of car starting with the basic GT. Its still good value. It is just that it was going to be GREAT value!

So the original brochure said the car would have a Torsen Diff, Adaptive cruise, fog lamps, Mach 1 Mats, reverse sensors and a few other bits and pieces which didn't make it to the car in Australia. Many were disappointed about it and there was significant backlash.

Ford initially offered 3 services and a track day as compensation which many of us thought wasn't great but was better than nothing noting that Ford didn't have a offer anything really.

Now they're offering $5400 refunds to all customers which is just brilliant! Kudos to Ford for doing this! Makes the car incredible value for money.

I'm loving the car myself. The only gripe from a day to day perspective is the lack of braking with the cruise control with our draconian speed policy. Thats the one that annoys me given the standard GT mustang (or even Ecoboost) gets that.

Firstly Congrats on your new car.
Its good news on the $5400 do you know if this $5400 offer is in addition to the track day and free servicing or is it an alternate option?
