I'll have one of each in my driveway thank you very much.
Whatever day it is, I'll be driving the MACH

Easy enough to flip for an experienced Photoshop user.

The slow Rspec sales has me a little concerned if Ford take a punt and bring the Mach 1 over.

R spec sales weren't slow. They pretty much sold out within a week. The issue was covid happened and a few buyers would have pulled out due to job losses etc. There really can't be many of them left unsold though.

I think it's more likely Ford are keeping their powder dry, and wanting to wait much closer to a potential release date to confirm things. And giving some clear air to the R spec. US production always happens much sooner than the cars that get here, so there is always a big gap between reveal, and on sale date.

The Mach 1 is different to R Spec, it's a clever rework of the Bullitt type car, so the price will be much lower.

Yes, I'm aware of that. Still, being unable to sell a sold out product and with less people with disposable income on "fun" cars might sway their opinion of investing and bringing it to Australia.

Here's to hoping the bean counters can create a business case for us.

Doesn’t need to be done. Pericak already said mach 1 is going global. The quick sell out of bullitt proves these limited editions are very low risk. And considering we are one of the bigger markets for mustang it’s really a no brainer. The announcement surely can’t be far away.

Anyone know when it goes on sale in the us?

Hope you're right. If we get the full beans version, I will be getting one for sure.

The specs look good, especially the manual version with the GT350's gearbox, oil coolers
on engine. Gearbox and differential, wider wheels, I expect it to cost a crap ton but all the
devotees will pay if the package is what they want, the last Mach 1 was years ago, 2000
or 2001?

It's very different to Bullitt Mustang and so good to see Ford trying specials that work around the globe.

Just saw that there's only three R Spec Mustangs for sale on car sales, highest build number I saw was 371 of 500
so a few sales probably fell over, one was in NT so not a tragedy.

That far away still? No wonder there has been so announcement, if the release date would be over a year away.

Which is why I'm surprised at the delay in announcing it.

It's the GTF/Sprint for this platform before the S650 arrives

I like that a lot. Hopefully we get it, surely a formality you'd think.

I was out back having a smoke today and someone started their car. Scared the **** out of me with the noise. Looked over the fence and it was a Mustang

True but the US don't care THAT much about us. They had the GT350/500 to keep people excited and the Mach 1 came in when the GT350 was stopped. Worked for their timeline.

The Rspec is great for what it is and filled the void though I feel it was an expensive exercise when they'd have had better success bringing the GT350 here. Would've loved the Voodoo engine.

Another small update. The more I think about it the more I believe they need to be careful where they position this cost wise.

Other than the trans, and the badge, you could still buy a stock 5.0 and have alot of cash left do to the same mods and more I suspect?

True. I think it will work at Bullitt money. If it's Rspec money, it's not worth it.

The coolers and Handling package are what I'm interested in.

Sorry for late reply, S650 was cancelled, they're going with an evolved version of S550 that
includes bits and pieces from the CD6 program and of course re-engineered for battery
storage for hybrid version.

There are a few more R-specs than that around, my local dealer has 3 , and remember they are not allowed by Ford to advertise their new cars on carsales like they used to, only demos or used. Done to stop people comparing and tying to get deals over the phone. If you go through the lists by dealer you will find a few R-specs around, the local ones started at $120k now down to $114k.

I understand that, the point I was originally making was that obviously some sales fell over and dealers “got stuck” with cars but it’s not like there’s hundreds of them out there unsold and it’s a chance that’s every dealer takes with a high value product but yes, at some point, dealers will need attractive pricing to move them on. You wouldn’t want these hanging around too long with SM17s on the way.

The Mach1 should be an easier sale but depends on buyer response and most importantly, follow through.

I think it’s great that Ford is finding way to deliver special vehicles even if
a few don’t sell out completely like they should, some lucky buyers will get
a splendid deal.

I look forward to the next gen Ranger being something special that allows
Ford to customise the heck out of it and give buyers that true high end
experience. A lot of lessons were learned along the way, what the yanks
are doing with Bronco customisation is just breath taking, we can wish
for a fraction of that same love on Ranger.

Let's not forget you haven't been able to walk into a Victorian dealership for a long time and now only regional Vic at the moment to buy anything which has hurt sales badly.

My deposit is down pending confirmation on the handling pack. No handling pack equals no sale for me. It's an overpriced Mustang without it.

Yeah not interested if we can't get it... presuming most Ford dealers will be closed down here in covid central so couldn't even put a deposit down if I wanted to
