Default MB XR5 spoiler

I saw the MB XR5 spoiler and I really like it, and I think it would set off my Titanium quite nicely.

Firstly, any idea if it's the same as the MA XR5?
Secondly, it's not mentioned as an accessory for other models, would it have to be a spare part order? (arm+leg).

I haven't had much luck looking for aftermarket equivalents either... does anyone know of any?

Thanks.

Having had my MA next to an MB XR5, I would be surprised if they are different.

But I have no doubt that they are expensive!

Got quoted on one on Friday from local Ford dealer $997 then paint and fitting probably up for another $500. Would love to get my hands on one though.

Thanks Larso. Sheesh! I think I can live without one for that price... have found the occasional one on some UK sites, but they're still a couple of hundred pounds, plus postage...

Would it be cheaper to buy a complete XR5 tailgate from a wrecker??

MOND30, I recently bought a rear hatch spoiler for my Mondeo XR5 which goes up top like Focus spoiler. Not sure what you'd think of it, but i reckon it looks tops.

Here is a pic (not my car but mine will be the same once it is fitted)

i bought it from a mob in england and it cost me 89GBP (about AU$140) colour coded and delivered to my door.

Mondo, how did you go with your spoiler?

I just came back to this thread to check if the spoiler interfered with the window washer jet, but it seems that it's fine from the pic you posted...

Does everyone else's washer jet just dribble down the window and not give a wide spray? I asked the dealer to look at it last service and they said they cleaned out some polish from the jet but it didn't make any difference...

Thanks.

Mondo Broady, where did you get the spoiler, it looks good.
How does it mount, ie bolted or glued?

hi guys, i got the hatch spoiler through eurocartoy and it cost GBP89 painted and delivered. (at the time, about $148) these are the contact details of Josh, the guy i dealt with, from Eurocartoy amebastyling@gmail.com

i got a panel shop to fit it as i was having other cosmetic stuff done at the time but you can fit yourself. it comes complete with high grade double sided tape and a high grade silicon glue. full instructions are also included. the guy whose car i posted earlier in the thread did his own with a mate's help.

as for the earlier question, yes MA and MB are the same. that euro one looks like it will be good but you'll have to paint. $500 to paint and fit as mentioned above sounds excessive. i'd say it will be far less than that considering i had quite a bit done to my car and the total cost ended up being $700.

here is a couple of pics...

I emailed Josh today and got a pretty quick reply, they're now up to GBP95 painted and delivered (about A$165 today), and that's a special AFF price apparently.

Has anyone else seen this one on eBay from Poland? Lots of positive feedback for the seller, I'm waiting on a postage quote...

Cheers.

OK so postage from Poland was like GBP85, more than the spoiler. However they will do combined postage discount, so I'm thinking "Group Buy"...

I'm waiting for another quote for 3x and 5x spoiler shipping, to see if I can bring the unit cost down.

Anyone interested in taking one? I would get them shipped to Adelaide, then pick up or delivery in Oz. Please reply or PM me if you're keen.

Thanks
Brenton

I did ask Josh in my first email if they did the full boot spoiler, but he didn't mention it in his reply, only priced the roof spoiler...

Oops forgot to post the combined postage info, sorry... No one contacted me to express an interest in a group buy though...

Total cost for one is just over $260 delivered to you.

A group buy of 3 would bring the total cost down to about $200 each, delivered to Adelaide.

A group buy of 5 brings it down again to about $170 each.

Don't forget to add paint and fitting to that.

If anyone is keen, please let me know.

Cheers
Brenton
