on the uk fiesta site i remeber readin something about people bit not popping out of the bonnet and they sugested getting some one to push on the bonnet so it pushes down a bit and it would pop out.

but personly i wouldnt do that as it might dent the bonnet i woudl take it back and say this shit isnt working

Its a terribly common problem with most fiesta owners including myself: Either it WONT open (took me and 3 mates about 20 mins to open it), or wont close (happened to me on my test drive, so I drove round with an open bonnet latch).

Get someone to push on the very very front of the bonnet (the stronger part that wont dint) and pull the latch. It should open then.

I've also heard of a case where someones damaged and dinted their bonnet from trying to either close or open it, and Ford had to pay for the bonnet repairs and subsequent respray. Its a bit of an issue..... Like the typhoon clutch was :

Yep my bonnet got fixed under warranty, (repair, repaint, new catch...) hope it doesn't happen again, but I will be keeping an eye on it, good luck with yours.

Take it back to ford rich. Jeeze what a stupid invention that bonnet latch. I guess the Germans were too busy acting sexy and poncing around to that "I see you baby" song to think about how to open the bonnet.....

I have never had a problem with my bonnet latch. Take it back to Ford, it should work right first time all the time. It is just not acceptable for things like this not to work. My 2 cents.
