Wet Shoes?

TO heck with water in boot. IS my car the only one that soaks my feet and those of my good lady when i open the door if the car has been sitting in rain?

The water seems to get in top of frame but cant get out till teh doors are opened.

Doesnt impress her when she has her good shoes on.
Makes me wonder about long term rust problem in bottom of doors and sills.

What's this rain thing? Just kidding. I haven't noticed this problem but then again I don't stand that close to the car. I'll have to wait for that (rare) rain again and see if it occurs.

Hasn't happened to me and Perth is going through some pretty wet weather.
Nor has it happened to me when I wash the car.

I notice it happens when your wax on the paint isn't quite new enough.

With fresh wax or sealant the water beads / sheets off the roof and never pools on that lip, so there is nothing to drip into the door.

Try applying a fresh coat of your favourite wax or sealer and see how it goes. A good wax that is very slick and promotes sheeting will help greatly.

Maybe that is why I haven't noticed it. Mine got two coats of wax on the weekend. Been meaning to upload the photos because it has come up like a mirror!

Yeah I wax mine every second week with Swissvax Onyx

When I first got the car pre my 10 hour detail, I used to get the water coming in when you opened the door, not anymore.

Thats the only thing I can think of, unless its just been luck?

How do you find time to do it every second week?
I wash my every second week with a high quality wax shampoo (Mothers) and have waxed it 3 times in 6 months.

Im a car nut lol.
Detailing is a hobby of mine, so Im not just washing my car, its a task I love doing.

Sort of my chill out time. But yeah waxing that often with the wax I use, adds another 30-40 mins on the process.

If waxing your car is hard to do due to time restrictions I recommend using OCW - Optimum Car Wax. You can wax a whole car in under 5 mins. And thats no exaggeration.

That is a cheap wax lol.

Nice waxes start from about $50 (eg: p21s).

Most expensive wax currently available is ZYMOL Royale. Yours to buy for the sum of approx' $18,000. Yes you read correctly!

Sorry, but I haven't experienced the problem you describe, but then it's been pretty dry over here.

I didn't get any photos of my car after I detailed it unfortunately.

But I can take some reflection shots etc, of it on Sunday for you. Its still pretty much swirl free after 10 months...

IMHO, if there is anything that you are unhappy about, you should advise the dealer and expect some explanation or response. The fact that no one else here has noticed (prob due to the drought), in no way changes what you see as a fault. I am sure we would all be interested in seeing the outcome of your complaint to Ford.

i noticed today it seems to be coming out of the door latches where they connect to the B pillar. So maybe its getting in the window rubber. yeh think iwill chat to ford

Same thing was happening to my "financial controllers" '05 MK3 wagon - seems the water was running down past the window seal on one of the back doors ... easy to fix - remove runner, check metal channel is straight with big enough gap (7 or 8mm seems ok) and then re-install rubber ... presses up against window all the way along and hey presto - no more leaks.
