I can barely keep on top of both cars, let alone mod anything.

The only thing I ever insist upon is good sound... as in sound system. I don't care if it's not a "brand name" as long as it does the job. :sm_headba

This comes before anything else... cos I don't WANT to hear the car collapsing around me!

My plans this year for the Rolla include getting the rust cut out, fixing the back window winders (the whole system inside the doors has shut down - on BOTH back doors), getting new tyres and possibly rims (some nice 14 or 15s), fitting another carby, doing the brakes (front and rear) and finishing the goddamn sound system once and for all. This all has to be done within 2 months as rego is coming up.

The EA needs front brakes and rotors, rear braking system overhall (the handbrake sucks), the gas system looked at (and tweaked to run straight LPG), another exhaust system, and steering issues looked at.

My main plan is to do these things so then after it is all done, at least I can keep on top of the buggers, it's soooooooooooo expensive!

Hmmm...
in the near future:

-Lowering
-MPFI conversion
-new dash to fix up the massive crack that just appeared... Or a dash mat :P

if I don't spend all my $$:
-Manual conversion
-exhaust+extractors
-some sort of bodykit (or at least painting the bumpers)

That'd satisfy me for a while

Within a week my car should be painted and have wheels. Then I have to do the interior, rear trailing arms, ED rear end and the rest of the shit in my sig.

I hope to have the turbo in by April..but I'm in no rush atm.

Planned Mods ?

Think back to 1994/95... the V8 Supercars

Something like a road registered one of those i guess
Speedline 17" wheels
V8 Supercar Bodykit
lotsa lightweight parts (looking into Carbon fibre production methods)
347ci motor
6-speed Hollinger (might even build a sequential shifter for it)
the big brake package
so on... so on....

Think of it as the car you might have been able to
buy from FORD if you wanted to go racing back then
a 1994/95 GT HO
(lots of racing bits included)

still researching all the details... before we start on it
after returning from the USA (2month hols - Sept/Oct '05)

see... this is exactly why I'm researching everything before I start ;)

for a mild 347 (read 430bhp) a Tremec TKO will be fine.

Haha, it'd be more than fine, wouldn't the TKO be a bit much for that? I don't think they're that cheap either. Isn't that the box Todd Wilkes ran in his 1000rwhp+ Giocattolo/VS ute?

k, three cars.........
The XB: build it. lol.
paint it, fit the 460/C6/9", fit 17x8/17x11 torque thrust II's (similar to SPHELL's rims)
take it out and humiliate everyone that wants a go.

The EF: fit the AU2 XR8 engine thats sitting in the shed. This is happening at the moment.
fit full exhaust (extractors, hi-flow cats, twin system), thats going in with the engine.
swap the non-LSD 3.23 for a 3.45 LSD. that will be done as soon as the engine conversion as done.
Further down the track: convince the mrs that it needs 17 or 18" rims.
fit fairlane cornering lights.
lower it (properly lol)
**** off the stupid bonnet vents and graft on a BA bulge
fit a momo steering wheel.
theres probably more, but i cant think of it. the car is more my wifes car than mine, so apart from the engine/exhaust/diff, everything else is up to her.... but she does want the bonnet bulge.
the original shortblock that comes out of the car might get stretched to a 347 one day, if i dont sell it......

The EB: well, its already lowered with 17"s, 3.27LSD, got tints, full exhaust, 2 subs.... oh, and an AU 6cylinder, all i want for that car now is an xr rear lip spoiler, a lower body kit, and a cam. Easy stuff.

Apart from finishing the mechanicals on the EF, building the coupe (and paying fo the parts) is my priority for the next few months. So don't expect to hear too much from me in regards to mods on my E-series cars.
I'll start a thread shortly on the progress of the EF's conversion.

Phil

Hmmm...
to stop the imagination going wild (twin turbos, huge wings/scoops/wheels etc..) and for the sake of building to a motorsport category i can race a road car in, i picked 3j, improved production. i know that a series 1/2/3 rx7 with bridgeport 13b stripped out & not rergistered would be faster, but i like ford v8's & want to be able to use a race car on the street (at legal speeds of course), or should i say my street car on the track?

some has already been done & i've been researching this for a while so here goes:
Need b4 going racing :eclipsee_ : 4/5-way harness, bonnet pins, safety kill switch, tow hook, antispray foam in ulp tank, remove-able roll cage/structure braced to fr strut towers (call bond, meridian motorsport m-msport.com.au), H compound A032R race tyres on 17x8” wheels, timing beacon, 5 speed conversion (raise acc pedal up 4 heel & toe changes) & club-comp C3 licence. Check cams manual 4 more.

Next priorities: larger diam front brakes & 2-6 piston calipers (twin piston & 330mm dba slotted, road version $2200+ freight or saloon car control setup $2700+ freight @ cebco brakes), dba drilled/slotted rear brakes & sports pads, brake proportioning valve (wilwood knob style WIL-260-2220 $71.42 @hpw/WIL260-2400 lever type $123.34 @hpw), quote/size fuelstar (see buy-asap.com.au), front air dam & rear wing (+ fit rest of bodykit), fit 3.45:1 lsd & speedo correction kit, adjustable roll bars and adjustable shocks/springs [coil overs?], front camber/castor kit or adjustable strut mount, strut tower brace, seem weld body, tailshaft loop ($50 @vpw), fit eeciv tuner or tweecer/rt, wideband O2 sensors, O2 monitors (unless tweecer rt suits), rear neg camber if possible, wire up & install water spray, buy and port alluminium heads & intake (ayross.com.au, dremil kit at dick smith $38) & properly design induction system (intake mouth to manifold), find tuned or equal length long-tube extractors (pacemaker PH-4004 Ford EB-EL - Comp - 1-3/4 – tuned $700 @vpw)

Still need to write complete engine parts list, trial fit 347 kit to spare block, then clearance, get balanced & reassemble, select/buy cam, 3” exhaust, fit under-drive pulleys (aluminium underdrive pulley set: alt 22% water 14% other 8% $275 from pro-flow), baffled oil pan, mains cap girdle (ACE-MG302 Ford 302W$229.95 @vpw), lightweight flywheel (Yella Terra YT 9909 L, 8.5 kg) & comp clutch, driving lights, reduce weight, window net, engine oil cooling. more as i think of it & the rta & 3J rules permit :Up_to_som

Well, I'd like to get my car running without using insane amounts of fuel and ****ing out black smoke before I do anything else. Although I'll probably fix that tomorrow.

After that, I dunno. Climate control is still a go if I get around to it, extractors to go with my zorst (I'm leaning towards those pre-hpc coated pacemakers that JetHot sell...) and some sort of cold air intake.
After that, some wheels (I like my hubcaps at the moment ) and then a full pedders sportsryder setup.
Oh and at some stage I'll finish painting the bonnet.

Finish power window conversion, fit fairmont side moulds, transfer over extractors, zorst cam and suspension, as well as the wheels when I get new tyres. Then, ill be polishing the inlet and rocker cover from the lane, as well as getting the spare head ported. Looks like I might be able to do a trade with a wrecker for the fairlane shell, on an xr lsd diff..... Finally, ill be doing a manual conversion, again, using the parts from the 'ol fairlane. BTW, the new car is an EL GLI, picked it up last night

Just an update, I am picking up a 3.45 XR6 LSD at 3:30 today. The wreckers are taking it out of the car for me as we speak. They have a front ended EB XR6 that just come in.

They have also got an AU XR6 engine, including the manual gearbox and computer if anyone is interested. This is at just falcons.

Now I just need a high stall and I am set for racing. Ill likely do that next month. No more getting my **** kicked off the line by commodore V6's woot!!
