Question MB Mondeo wagon 'Ford' badge surface

gday

The surface of the 'Ford' badge on the rear tailgate of my 2009 MB Mondeo LX wagon is peeling off. Parts of what remains of the blue part of the badge surface is bubbled.

Has anyone else had this problem occur? I assume this badge is on most Fords.

cheers

You'll need to buy a new badge from dealer, remove old by heating with hair dryer, new one has adhesive pads and sticks in place. Make sure you ask for Mondeo as different sizes. Caused by closing tailgate with hand on the badge, eventually surface cracks and peels. Best to use the inside handholds to close.

2009 MB Mondeo LX wagon
+ 3yrs warranty
Expires 2012 by my maths
You could hardly claim failure of badge is 'normal wear and tear'

as above, warranty claim...............

Thanks for input lads.

I bought car 3 months ago as a one year old Jefferson Ford demo. So its the Ford dealer that has been placing their hands on the badge to close the tailgate!
Anyway, the car is at Jefferson Ford Tuesday for a new badge, hopefully under warranty too!

cheers

Mine is the same. Bought mine 2 months ago as a 12 month old demo and after I read your post I checked mine out taking it to dealer in a week or two to get towbar fitted so will find out then.

gday jellybaby

The badge was replaced under warranty last week. I was told it was not caused by human touch, but was a very unique 'one off' fault!!!

cheers
