Similar to VIP and Jims. I can not believe I saw a "Game" lawn mowing ute and trailer the other day.
These guys are a crap roadworks Stop and Go traffic control company who are now trying to muscle their way into other guys businesses.
They have done so many stupid things I've seen personally while out driving, I would hate to see what they do to clients lawns.

Every year for 15 years, I had the task of cleaning up leaves from Ornamental Pears that surrounded one of my clients house. Each week I would fill my ute with bags and bags of leaves, either raked or mowed.

The process usually involved blowing everything onto the lawns and either sucking them up with the mower or raking into piles and bagging them.

Once the trees had dropped all of their leaves, I would still be cleaning them up well into winter. Pear leaves are very thick and do not break down quickly unless shredded. I also had to do the same thing at three other properties.

I gave the job away at this place due to stress (long story) at the end of last year, I'm more than a little relieved to not be running the autumn leaf gauntlet this year.

The smallest tree, with the biggest leaves, is just starting to drop them now.

Don't know what breed it is but it's got maple leaf shaped leaves with nasty round spiky ball shaped seed things.

Those look like London Plane / Platanus × acerifolia. Those are a nightmare and take a long time to break down, lasting right into spring and beyond. These are best shredded and turned into mulch or composted.

(Most of) the leaves get mowed/shredded and into the bin, the prickly seed things are a problem, even the leaf blower/vac doesn't like them

The seeds burn in a fire pit. Cockies and galahs like them in the green phase, and the bees love the blossoms.

My vac doesn't like them either.

They have a habit of jamming between the vanes of the impeller. Stihl sell a three pronged blade that can be bolted to front of the impeller that helps shred material better. I wonder if that would help with those stupid seed pods?

Ive been using slasher for a month now at my baller property, and im pleasantly surprised, even in cool shady spots, the weeds are brown a week later. What i dont love is the smell, it hangs around for ages.

I have another customer, who went against my advice and installed sir walter buffalo in a shady high traffic area, and now hes loosing it cos it looks like crap. Making things worse, is he wouldnt let me wind back the irrigation as the nights got cooler, the answer to crap grass must always be more water no matter the season. What would i know, im just a horticulturist.

It will be like dog chasing it's own tail... - Most mobs will blow these leaves away and walk. There is a price to pay for doing things to your own satisfaction regardless.'

How silly councils planted many roadside pathways.
Apart from the autumn mess their root system is as big as whats in the air and they rip up pathways/pipes anything in its path.......

They plant deciduous trees as they are amongst the highest carbon syncing varieties. Pulling carbon from the atmosphere, turning it into leaves then dumping them once a year and starting again.

If they plant more suitable natives like Eucalyptus they're labelled as potential murderers because someones old uncle Bob used to call them dang things widow makers and warned the children never to stand under one.

It's a loose/ loose situation for the councils when it comes to trees, whatever side of the fence you sit on.

A few areas of my town were planted with London Plain's 50 years ago. These trees are obviously well established and do have their benefits but.......

The mess they make is considerable and their root systems cause damage to pavements which need periodic remedial efforts. Both drawbacks would cost significant sums of money each year. Council wanted to remove them for this reason but locals protested over it. As mentioned, its a loose/loose situation.

I'm all for trees in both public and private areas but people need to careful in their selection. Otherwise it becomes a problem, ends up being removed and the whole process starts again.
