Default "P" Cars from FPV - Pre-production Cars

G'Day guys,

Thought that this would be the best place to ask this question...

Anyone own a "P" car from FPV...
A Pre-Production Car??

My best mate bought a Force6 that is P002.... He found out from the dealer that it was used in the brochures of the car (which we checked out, and it looks spot on)... and that there were only 3 "P" cars in total from the Force6 range... One Blue, One Charcoal, One Silver... (I know I should have used the correct paint codes.... sorry...

and I wondered if there are any others out there with P cars.... not just from the Force range, but from FPV in general... and if they came with anything out of the ordinary??

I've been to lots of car shows around the place (mostly in Vic) and never seen another "P" car....

I will see if I can get some photos to 'authenticate' my story...

Hope to see some responses...
Cheers

Loftie

Hey loftie,

I have no idea of paint codes so i understand it better the way you wrote it!
You are correct. i'm not aware of club members with p cars, but know of someone who got one and the only difference was wheels.
I'll see what i can dig up unless any others can shed more light than me.....

Ther's usually nothing really different in P cars loftie but they have been press hacks and runabouts and usually have had a hard life in the short space of time between build completion and being sold .

I know of an ELGT P003 that was sent to England and was the english tickford boss's drive car it was later bought back to Australia and now resides in the newcastle area. The car is in VG cond and has some interesting stamps in the books and some additional features.

Default FPV "P" cars

Hi all, I am the owner of a Blueprint FPV Pursuit P02, I had the option of purchasing P01 and P02, P01 was an auto and P02 is the manual, I'm not sure how many P cars there were in that model even FPV could't tell me?
The car had 2,500km on it when purchaed 4 years ago and has 19,700km.
The only difference I can see from this car to the production cars is the brakes, mine has FPV calipers and the others have Bembro.

That would be Glenn's car, & a fine car it is. Hopefully he will educate us on the differences between a "p" EL GT & a production EL GT. You will be surprised!!! Over to you Glenn.

Default Re: "P" Cars from FPV - Pre-production Cars

Dug up this ancient thread on "P" cars.

I asked the question a few months ago re: the "P" in build numbers. Mine is P02.

I then asked FPV and in a long winded, email tennis affair, they finally sent me a letter that just lists "pre-production" as option 1H. I had asked for an explanation on the "P" and this was their best effort.

I bought the car about 2 months ago with under 5000 kms, yet it was well over a year old. (seduced by the $30K under replacement RRP ). I have doubled the odo reading in two short months !!

It even still has that "new car" smell.
It is/was immaculate in and out, not a single scratch/mark inside, evident ar$e creases on drivers seat (typical Ford leather).
Outside there is evidence of spray touch ups on two rims, front bar (stone chips) and more of concern the rear bar...?
Tyres were not brand new and consistant with 5k km of normal wear, not 5K km of my driving atm . If they were brand spankers after 5000km the alarm bells would be deafening
Unlike contributors to the "FG squeaks & rattles" thread this car has nil unwanted sound effects.

If this car was a thrash/press/test/ mule then I would suggest FPV have a few too manny Nanas on staff !

So thumbs up for "P" cars ..............

I know someone with a EB GT "P" car, and from memory one of the funny things is it dosent have smart lock or smartshield or whatever the earlier setup was. He also has a normal EB GT and it does have the above in it.

Lots of "P" cars around that come up for sale here and there, have almost bought 2 F6's in the past with P build numbers, and there was a guy on these forums named Paul with a BF2 F6 in Toxic that was P005 I think.

They can be a combination of internal audit/test, press, brochure photo or one or the other of the above. They don't always have the **** thrashed out of them but most of the time this is the case.

Sorry to dig up an ancient thread but I have a BA F6 P car, which would mean it's one of the very first F6s made - does anyone know how many BA F6 P cars were made? Mine is completely original and has some quirks consistent with it being a pre production car and does some things different to 0140 which I also own. Has anyone done much research on the P cars? I like to fantasise mine is the oldest F6 left haha

They normally do 10 x P cars, then go into production numbering.
