Probably an EcoBoost, or a GT CS with heavy dealer markup.

Crystal balling...with Ford having it's own dedicated ship transporter for Oz and NZ and if the stories from industry-wide dealers that orders and buyer interest has noticeably slowed during the last months of last year could we start to see discounting/increased car company incentives start being offered once supply meets demand or even if capacity starts to exceed demand?

Its already started at dealer level.

You can pretty much walk into any Ford dealer and pick up a cancelled order of anything if you are flexible on colour with a 2 - 4 week wait time. 12 months ago it was up to a 12 month wait for anything popular (V6 Everest / Ranger).

Yep. Dealer called and offered me a Raptor in Grey or Black (huge oversupply of them). I want blue so still waiting

Interestingly there are 21 Raptors for Private sale (filtered as Used by me) with under 500km...
and about 14 Dealer sales again under 500km.

You would be surprised at the amount of people who ordered these 12 months ago thinking they could flip them and make 10k profit.

Most of them are now cancelling them and walking away from their deposits

Raptor is probably the easiest V6 Ranger to get atm, Ford built more due to demand and obviously as interest rates and cost of living pressures have prevailed people are less inclined to purchase. They are also a dog on fuel.

I just did a search and there are 80 next gen Raptors for sale with under 5,000 kms on them....

This is what's weighing on my mind. I can buy the old, have to add a front locker, and live without the extra performance but get great fuel economy (probably worthwhile if going remote camping). Or pony up for the new one, dont need to add anything to it, but lose some range when camping.

For those thinking they'd flip all they have done is make it initially harder for true buyers and I say suffer + ...

For those struggling financially I'm only slightly more sympathetic but again a $90K+ purchase for most of us needs some thought.

Yep, no sympathy though you might get a deal now thanks to them. Dealers have their "profit" of abandoned deposits so can pass some of that on to customers. No markup to be expected.

There were two cancelled Raptor orders at my dealer back in November last year, so it started a while ago. Both jumped ship and lost their deposits. Dealer was not impressed.

Me either, they can suffer! All that sort of behavior does it make it harder for those who truly want a particular car, be the price or availability.

Ordered mine 16 months ago, now on the boat on it's way. Was tempted to pay overs for one on Carsales a few times. Helped that I haven't driven one because if I had would probably have payed overs.

Due to size and engine I’d expect 12 highway and 18-20 around town

With summer all done now, I'm in no hurry for one anymore till September this year or so. Still waiting to see if we get the updated F150 this year as well. I do like the extra space of the F150.

Given we are so far behind in emissions standards, they probably can keep selling those cars here and comply with the standards.

If your looking for suspension specifically I think they will bring another Diesel spec lower end FX4 out in the next year or so.

The demo Raptor V6 petrols I have had all hover between 14 - 18 litres per hundred. You can nearly watch the fuel guage go down around town.

I just had a look and I am averaging in the high 13's since I bought it according to the trip computer. That's with almost 20000km and an average speed under 50kph.

Sounds like it'll be shocking in low range going up hills.

Wanted the wider track of the Raptor specifically. No denying it's probably about as good as it gets for a factory 4wd.

This is where a hybrid or plugin hybrid would be awesome. All the torque at zero rpm. That's where I love the drive of an electric motor over petrol; Low range stuff.

How many hills are you going to need low range for with near 400hp and ten normal gears?
I've done a heap of off roading in my RTV wagon, Hiluxs, Prados, Pajero Sport and the amount of times I've used or needed low range can be counted on one hand. (would be handy in the RTV for going down hills due first gear being so long)
I think it's a bit of a hang up from when 4wds had no power or brakes and you needed the lower gearing in steep environments.

Ranger yes. But I’m still finding Everest thin on the ground.
Dealers are quoting 6 months plus for an Everest Sport V6.
Maybe they can divert some resources into more Everests.

Ours is sitting at 13L/100 but it’s only two weeks old. We live in the country and do mostly highway driving.
