Default Pics in signature

I was wonder why this site does not allow picture(s) in the signature? Is there any chance that that we can have at least one similar to the pic I have provided? I see it on others sites and thought it might be good idea to have it here...

Cheers

Thanks for the suggestion about signatures, but alas we will not be going down this path - within the next twelve months at least.

Why do peple even need pics in their signature. We have Show N Shine threads. I Imagine those on Dialup will love the extra time it takes for a page to load due to pics in sigs

Is there any chance this could be earlier? Is the site going to be updated within the next twelve months?

May be we could have it as a special feature to members or for someone who hits 1000 post for example?

Do you have dial-up or broadband?

If people do have dial-up then wouldnt it take longer for pictures to load in the Show N Shine threads? Some pictures can be up to 500kb, times that by all the pictures on that thread, and thats compared to a 40kb signature pic.

Internet speeds are definitely getting fast, so I thought it wouldn't be so bad to have an extra 40kb in a post/signature. Beside, doesnt a signature only get shown once for that thread?

I think having a signature picture would be a great addition to this growing forum. With the sig pic its like the avatar but it can show a unique and different perspective of that users car in a better size.

Fordmods has pictures in signatures and its a big pain in the A$$ - if i wanted to look at random pics I can surf the net.......

Would rather look at pictures which are associated with the thread or the post.

I agree, the page looks best when it's not too crowded.

Pics in sigs just cause more clutter on a page. I like not having them here.

It gets dangerous on forums offering things at a certain amount of posts, you end up with people spamming left, right, and centre, with the sole intention of getting their postcount up for whatever little "reward" might come out of it. On one forum in particular I visit (I shan't name it!) they removed postcounts and user titles pretty well altogether, apart from "Regular" or "Committee Member" type things. Nothing that changes with the amount of posts, because people spammed the living daylights out of them to be the number one poster. I may have at one stage been the number one poster/spammer ;)

I'm not totally against signature pictures like the userbars and things, provided that they're relatively small, not cluttered, and conform to some sort of size restrictions set by the moderator. In fact, I think the userbars are quite nice, they tend to break posts nicely.

Perhaps it could be added as something that donating members are allowed to have? More incentive for people to give a little money towards the site, and the administrators could set it up to disallow huge ugly pictures, just something small & narrow to add a little more colour and individualism to each post.

That being said, I couldn't really care whether or not we have them, was just offering a couple of suggestions.

This has been done before as above.

Even if the site was to be updated, I, and I reckon alot of other people would be disappointed if pics in sigs were allowed. Its tacky and slows thing down.

Ford mods is a prime example, although that site is a dog breakfast anyway; it gives me a headache.

The whole idea blows! Post your pics in the appropriate threads, then IF someone wants to see it, they can look!
Cheers,
Mike
