Just a heads up that Bosch has 20% off at the moment. Promo code 139581.

discount brings the price of MC mondeo front wiper set down to $43.66.

Need to get the total order up to $50 for free shipping otherwise it's $8.

Thanks. I just put refills in the other day. $15?
The original wipers just pull off the end cap and bend the claw up.
Maybe the beams lose their spring eventually but mine seem OK.

The wiping part on the refill I replaced recently was partly torn off, it was Ford/motorcraft. What issues have you had with them?

I got a few new ones quite a while ago, one of the big auto stores. Size is 6mm*11mm, I took a sample.

Yeah, the motocraft ones. Took less than a year to fall apart and leave us without wipers on a rainy day.

Bosch ones are pricey but last for many years and just get to the point where they don't work as well.

Ford front and rear: AWV 1922FM and AWV 610 20S.

Last time I took the rubber out and got matching cross section refills at SC for $15, they have been fine. Size is 6X11 mm.

No need to buy new aero blades at $60 - $80, unless faulty.

Yeah I guess so. They look like it and I can see a little Bosch symbol on the hinge piece.

cheers.

I actually found the Bosch full blade pair for <$40 shipped (some UK based ebay seller), but happier to spend just $15.

Also came across these on amazon, but not a lot of feedback around on the manufacturer.

I bought a pair of Bosch Aerotwin from the UK last year. Less than NZ$50 including postage.

So I've been into SCA, Autobarn and Bursons to look for suitable refills but no luck.

SCA seemed to have the best selection but to check properly involved opening packets and I was in a bit of a rush. The girl that served me was arrogantly adamant I could fit a refill so refused to help. She had a real 'computer says no' attitude.

Bursons were good and at least checked for me because their refills are behind the counter, but no luck.

If anyone could confirm SKU/model for refills bought from SCA it'd be very much appreciated.

I found an ebay seller with the genuine Ford/Motorcraft part AWV1922FM, but these are about $30 shipped.

Anyway, will continue to hunt and in the meantime I've found that flipping the wiper over has eliminated the annoying 'chatter' I was getting with my old rubber.

Hadn't thought of reversing the insert. I'll give it a try, one side is chattering now.
The rubber looks OK so I wondered if it was the spring in the blade.

I keep an inch or so of wiper refill sample. Makes it easy to identify suitable refills. The basic size is 6x11 mm, but don't know the part numbers.

Hi manchu, I've bought and fitted Tridon rubber wiper refills from SCA. I used the Mid Back Tapered Metal 7.5mm, part number MRT28-2 (a 2-pack of 28" long wipers).

I selected these as they had the closest profile I could see to the OEM rubber, crucially the top/back mounting channel seems to be spot on so they fit in the beams nicely. Unfortunately you also pay for the metal strips and clamps that you won't be using, but none of the cheaper plastic refills looked the right shape when I compared them.

They seem a little softer (thinner?) than the OEM rubbers, so there's more deformation in the resting position against the windshield, but performance has been fine.

Costco have Michelin branded wiper refills..all different lengths, with multi fitting kit for different attachment styles for around $13 per blade. I did my MC with them and they work fine.

Replaced my wiper blades again today.

I'm trying some "Masterpart" brand beam blades from Autobarn.

Got them for $22.39 drivers side and $19.99 passenger side.

Made by Trico and they look like the insert could be replaced.

Seem OK so far, but anything would be good after the worn out old blades.

I did mine yesterday. Old ones were real shabby after putting it off for a whole year.

I went for Bosch Aerotwin. $39 delivered for front set, which is great for local stock. Sparesbox ebay store with 15% off coupon. Seems that sparesbox is a regular with the 10/15/20% off eBay deals so worth checking out.

That is a good deal - about what it costs for a set from the UK. At that price, it's not worth messing around with refills.

Let's know how they go.
I have only used refills from the local auto shops, for about the same price. Easier to clip in a new arm though.

One of my wipers is juddering a bit. I might try the twist fix:

Thanks I hope and ordered a set yesterday. Delivery time seems lengthy but fingers crossed they are suitable.

Shall report back.

I figured at that price and ease of changing back to my existing wipers if not suitable makes it a good gamble.

Fingers crossed.

I guess that's US$16.75?? Showing as A$25.13 for me

I stumbled across those a year ago (linked earlier in this thread) but didn't want to be the guinea pig ;). Little info/reviews on the product and not great (15% neg) seller feedback turned me off.

I'm sure they're fine though. How hard can it be to make wipers!.

Clicked my link again and this time it showed A$25.13 also. So checked my bank statement and Amazon only charged me A$16.75 back when I ordered them.

I've just ordered my 3rd set of Motorcraft refills from an eBay seller called adelaideparts. Search eBay for "GENUINE FORD MA MB MC MONDEO + LS LT LV FOCUS WIPER BLADE REFILL KIT FRONT". AUS$33.55 and should be here within a week (and they have been very quick to deliver on the previous buys from them)

Thanks to the continuing demise of the pound, a set of Bosch Aerotwin blades can be had for about $40 including delivery from the UK. These are the OE wiper blades except for a Bosch label, and the ones I bought were a specific fit for the MA - MC.

3rd set in how many years?

I was about to buy those from same seller but this post from nevetsg convinced me to spend the $7 extra on the aerotwins.

This last set has only lasted a bit over a year, but they're not too bad - just started getting a bit juddery (and I'm pretty fussy with my wipers). I guess you could hope they last a bit longer.
