I was thinking the same thing, doesn't that almost mean that it could be used to plug in an iPhone..?

right, mine neither (from CDs) which for a 2007 car is a bit...

the pictures show an LV shape head unit, but I can't remember if the LV could play MP3s cd. I know the LVmk2 had bluetooth...

and yes, the tea, well that looks nice too ;)

The LT certainly did not play MP3. I suspect the US models may have been way different in the radio than our south african imports.

US didn't get this model.

The head unit I know that plays MP3 from factory are the Red/Black Sony ones.

Oh, soz guys, yes, is for updated head units.

The GPS units that sell for about $300 have a usb connection on the back.
This is a nice factory looking unput though, dont you think?

Glad 'someone' is making after market odds and ends for not just the brand new models.

LV Series 1 can play MP3 and has audio input only in the glove box via 3.5mm earphone jack.

Not sure about Audio input for LV series 2. Comes with Bluetooth however.

Will look into this, hate having a wire hanging out the glove box to a phone I'm not allowed to touch while driving. Messy setup. A cheap USB full of songs would be the go for sure.

Hmmm looks good, may order the tea instead and ask them to throw in the USB interface lol.

Looks pretty straight fwd, 'plug and play'.

My LV MKII TDCi has a USB input inside the centre console, along with a audio jack. With the right configuration 'Y' cable you can control your iPod from the Sony radio.

Same in my 2011 Zetec although I only use the USB port with a Flash Drive

Has anyone with a MK1 LV pulled their head unit out and is there a plug like the cable has in the ebay ad?

Would be an interesting mod.....if it works

Probably would be the same. Assume they use the exact same plug for the MkII USB input?

I think you need to be careful when removing the facia where the dials are for temp and fan etc. My dealer needed to remove it for a warranty repair and I'm sure it hasn't been refitted correctly. Looks like it needs to go in another 2-3mm as I have noticed a larger step in the recess for the AC / recirculate button.

OMFG! That is the best mod I have ever seen.

The rear speaker/subs cover has given me an idea...
(cheapest part of his mod, lol)
