Default User search by Location

I was recently on another forum and noticed that there was an ability to list members in location order in addition to alpha etc.

Is it possible to implement such a facility or at least do a search on the userlist so as to find other AFFists that are locals.

This would probably be a bit silly for the larger cities due to the plethora of members but for us mere country yokels it could prove quite useful.

e.g. I have no idea if there are any other members here in Hervey Vegas although I believe there are a few in Maryboring and Blundabog.

Anyone else have comments on this?

Problem is mate that not all users have put in their details, and just having a look at a small sample of 30 at random, only 1 had their details in.

Not sure really what the best way would be to set something like that up!

Yes, very true Gary. A lot of users (myself included) put a dodgey location in our profile, but the idea of being able to locate other users in your area is good.

But for the people that do put their details in propely... it would be handy.

Especially in organizing local meets etc..

I don't know why people put in a dodgy location...unless they are hiding something.
