 http://satin.sensation.net.au/rowan/full_IMG_6098.jpg <-- full sized pic It's a black metal cylinder between the console and front passenger seat. It has a two wire electrical cable running to it. I'm guessing this is not part of the car, anyone know what it is? |

Dynamit Nobel appear to be a manufacturer of guns. Here's a pic of the front end... centre console is to the left of the pic, passenger seat is middle/right.

It's the explosive seat belt pretensioners fitted to all AU2 + cars. They activate in a serious accident, and pull the seatbelt tight.

Something I picked up on when I visited the Ford Discovery Centre. There's a diagram there with a chain of events of all the safety items that are 'activated' in the event of a serious accident.
Pretty awesome stuff, never saw the AU in the same light again.
