Default the pits suggestion.

just wondering if it is possoble to make sub-categories, ie V8's, F1, Cart etc in the pits area for the various motorsport types, rather than having to go through all the different posts to find what your after.

IMO would make it easier to browse that area..

kerry is right actually, wayne may have a valid point!

except i dont think it should be broken up too much as some categories dont get much discussion.

maybe:

-V8 supercar
-F1/Cart
-All other forms of motorsport

or

-Australian Motorsport (V8s, BRUTES, etc.)
-International Motorsport (F1, CART, etc.)

i think that having a section for each category would be just too much...some sections would rarely get a post

I don't see the need for it, the pits are not that busy with topics that they need to be divided up, its not like topics are going over the page on the day they are posted or anything, in fact even when the F1 nd v8's were on over the same weekend you didn't really have much more than 1/2 a page of topics in there that were active.
Witht he focus on trying to keep the forums as slim as possible, the extra here is not really required IMO

I agree with DK on this point

Anyhows wont take much just to use V8, F1 etc at the start of the thread topic as you post it!

Why not create a sub catagory specifically for race results then. Then its no surprise when you go in there what you are going to see.

its not a matter of going there SB, but by reading the forums by "new posts".

Its no big deal, there is a sticky in that section just asking that people actually post the result in the thread instead of the tittle of the thread

I agree with DK on this too.. That particular Forum doesn't get enough traffic for it to be split IMO..

I like it the way it is, split up is kind of a nightmare, like on the other site when he had it set up split with autobot, bloody awful.

I also have a suggestion for the pits, can we make it a rule or guideline that when people are posting race results they dont post a new thread for every session there is (eg Practise 1,2, Qualifying) Maybe have one for the whole weekend or the day of events, then we dont have like 5 threads for one race weekend.

what about if we give each catagory a results sticky thread. then all results are posted in there, leaving the rest of the page for genuine discussion ? it also stops the dodos like me from putting results in the subject line accidental like.
also this way if anyone posts we can merge it into those threads instead of well.....the mess we have now???
