Ford Unveils Latest Prototype

Ford Australia has unveiled its latest prototype - an all new website.

"The Ford website - www.ford.com.au - is one of the most popular* automotive sites among Australian World Wide Web users and this redevelopment puts Ford at the cutting edge of internet technology," Ford Australia Marketing and Sales Vice President Bruce McDonald said.

"The Ford Australia website has been upgraded to provide a user friendly environment perfectly suited to meeting the needs of customers of all ages."

The key areas of change on the site include:

Presentation of the Ford range of vehicles and models with consistent vehicle information for all brands
Clear navigation items which make it easy to find information on each vehicle
Highlights of key features for each vehicle
Prominent links to Dealer locator and Hot Deals
Updated and consistent contact information for all Ford Dealers
Prominent links to facilitate Test Drive and Brochure requests

Ford Australia Integrated Marketing Operations Manager Kathy Battle said Ford employed the services of leading web designers - the Web Development Group (WDG) - to redesign the site.

"The redesign of the website puts Ford Australia at the forefront of Internet technology," said Ms Battle.

"WDG worked closely with Ford Australia in applying user-centred design principles to create a site focused on meeting the needs of both the business and the consumer. Our objective was to ensure the user experience is both intuitive and informative, and facilitates the consumer vehicle research process."

"Consumers are now able to browse the complete Ford vehicle range, find the information they are looking for and contact Ford to arrange a test drive or request more information quickly and easily."

"The new look Ford Australia site now looks, feels and functions like a site that consumers should expect from Ford Australia and provides an exciting and interactive platform for Ford to engage with its customers," Ms Battle said.
