In the Drive section of SMH today,
Ford are having a promotion enticing people to Test Drive a focus, before they go and purchase a Astra, Civic, Lancer Mazda3, Corolla They will give you $250, if you buy one of these other cars, having first test drove the focus... Such a awesome promotion, i have convinced a couple of people to get Focus/Fiestas when previously they were set on another car.. just by making them test drive the ford first... Now people have got a whole lot more incentive too..

Hmm...surely there is some kind of condition to getting the $250.
Any Joe can walk in, pretend to be buying a car, and then say "nah, I like the 3". Easiest $250 ever!

You have to prove that you purchased the new car...
and if you do decide to purchase the Focus, they will give you the 250 anyway..

Need proof of a Retail Contract and a Registration form to prove delivery of another make. If you buy the Focus, you get the $250 anyway as a bonus.

I think the idea of it is to just get people into Ford showrooms - many who buy small cars don't even consider Ford for some reason (holdens "brainwashing"). Just the fact that they are getting them into a Ford dealer could increase sales dramatically.
