Default v8 conversion

hey guys,
a mate has a 99 or 2000 au fairmont that he rod off awhile back being a panel better himself he knew there was no hope fixing it so he is trying to part it out its a v8 owned buy a old couple as a tow vehicle that never got used so the engine is in prime condition
just wanted to know whats involved in do a conversion from a au6 to a au8 and whats needed
thanks all that help if this has been written about already or in someone build thread a link would be greatly appreciated

I can't remember the specifics, but I was looking to do a V8 conversion to my car. In the end I didn't go ahead for a few reasons, but the main advice I'd offer is to buy the whole car off him and swap all wiring, dash, etc etc.

I agree private9, it's far easier doing the conversion with the whole car for the transplant!!!

The main issue wouldn't be the mechanicals but more the wiring... Having the whole loom, computer, engine etc... would make life easy converting.

With the whole car if something doesn't fit just swap it from donor car!!!

Also not sure could anyone confirm if transmission tunnels are different between 6's & 8"s.
