G'day,
This weekend I have to pick up some brick pavers that I won on ebay - I was thinking and wondered if its possible to have 750kilos in my ute (FG Falcon Chassis Box) plus 750 kilos in the trailer combined at one go - Are you allowed to do that or it has to be 750kgs at once? I follow by the book and I do not exceed the weight limits. (reason I'm asking, if I cant have both, might as well take the ute alone without the trailer!) Thanks for your replies. Cheers AP |

I take it both the ute and trailer are rated to carry 750kg? If so, I don't see any issues.

The GCM of your vehicle should be stated on the compliance plate.

Righto I've just had a look in the book.. Unbraked trailer 750kgs. Ute 750kgs. GCM is 3950kgs. The GVM is 2510kgs. So legally I can have 1440kgs load on? Correct?

You can fully load the ute up to the GVM in the handbook. You can add a trailer that does not exceed the maximum towing mass. The combined total must not exceed the GCM. The GVM, GCM and towing capacity is in the hand book or here on this site:
http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthr...02#post3974902 Is your ute a 500kg, 750kg or 1 tonne capacity. Mass is a follows. Maximum towing, 2300kg with appropriate tow bar or 1600kg. GVM 1 tonne 2820kg GCM 1 tonne 4890kg GVM 3/4 tonne 2510kg GCM 3/4 tonne 4580kg GVM Sports 2325kg GCM Sports 4395kg In short 750kg in the ute and another 750 in the trailer should be easy doable. just double check the 750kg for unbraked trailer. i went to get some sandpit sand the other week and they would only put 500kg on. apparently the regs have changed again.

The 750kg for the trailer would include the trailer as well so you can't put 750kg of weight into an unbraked box trailer. So in the trailer you can only carry 750kg minus the weight of the trailer.

wait a minute!
what are your trailer springs rated at and what size trailer? 750kg on a standard 6x4 box trailer seams like too much if it has the average standard springs in it. id double check before you load it up and drive off chewing up tyres on your guards etc just a thought ![]() |
