Councils can't repair potholes properly without State and Federal funding.
There is so much red tape it's crazy.
If a council was to do a repair properly then they would be refused compensation by whichever government the road comes under.
They have to temporarily repair a pothole, then submit paperwork to State or Feds and wait for approval and finance from them to repair the road properly. It really is an antiquated system they have to work under. I'm not defending councils here but just stating how it has to be done.

I mainly drive around inner west Sydney. Many big potholes in state government and local government roads (mainly local government roads). Between me and my wife, $1,000 in tyres over the last few months. The pot holes remain for many weeks, not days. Some of them huge! Seems like the local council needs a report, then a review, then the equal opportunities officer needs a look then the LQBTxxxx officer, then the environment officer, then...... Many weeks and much cost later, we might get a pot hole fixed.

Sunbury Road upgrade happening between Sunbury and Bulla they've done the base so thick, it's like 10x thicker than my local highway and heaps more tar stuff on it, it looks like it's being done properly.

Come to tassie ,,
Where ,,, and I quote every targa Tasmania competitor ,,
“ the best driving roads in Australia ,,

Crock of crap .

They are PHUCKED !

More speed cameras be the gubberment and road safety committee’s answer ,
To raise coin to make it safer and contribute $$ to fix said roads ,,,

PHUCK OFF ,,!!

All they do is allow councils more funds to buy more new ford rangers ,,

So they can drive on our phucked roads better .

Yes I thought to hell with riding a bike on them type of pot holes, night riding no way !
Not to mention I seen a young bloke of the news when we were in Coonabarabran, who had come of his bike, been in hospital and just getting out he was alive.

So we went Goondiwindi Newell highway down to Molong, Cowra, Young, Yass, Canberra. Goulburn, Lithgow, Putty Rd up to Singleton, Scone, Tamworth, Armidale, Grafton, Casino, Lions Rd to Rathdowney.

The Aurion Got 34MPG 3 times 38MPG on one tank fill up. all on E10 94 octane.

Now it was around from Lithgow to Colo heights like signs showing 60 or 80KM/H with showing rain drops on one side of the sign. big signs !
Not yellow advisory for rubbish cars, towing or for trucks.

So govs will have to spend hundreds of millions $$$ to patch up, then redo it again properly when the conditions are right.

In the mean time, might be an idea to get some 15" steelies for the big trips.
The Aurion has 16" but 60 profile, magic for potholes. she just glided over such in the main thanks to me driving avoiding such 12" holes for real really but coped a few big ones as trucks coming the other way I had to.

The wife was complaining of a sore neck, me jumping on the brakes and swerving sharply like all day.

One spot the middle of the road touched the middle of the car, std height not lowered at all. I have yet to look at the sump, but it was just loose stones we scraped over.

Most we came across were Trucks and 4X4 with caravans not many cars.
Trucks did not give a rats about the potholes at all really and they were flat to the boards, many times I had over taken a Truck on a hill only to have them catching me up down all the hills fast and I was driving as fast as I dared with all the speed cameras about.

Most falcons will fit 16s. 215/60s wont throw the speedo out.

So the taxi rims were on for a different purpose. But they fitted. No 235s but still, they fitted. No care given towards damaging those.

We'll need his technology to fix our beyond repair roads nationally I think, timely arrival for our little green man friend.
