Saw one of these on the road the other day (megane sport f1).

It looked fantastic.

I liked the fact the little sticker things werent stripes.. and they didnt go over the whole car.

Only thing i would change. The wheels in the flesh were very shiny. Id prefer to have them matte black.

But other than that. it looked fabulous

I think it would be quite the potent little machine.

To be honest. On first visual impressions of the exterior when i saw the F1 on the road, i think i would have one over the XR.

I really like the look of the 3dr variant, much like the uk ones. and i loveee those wheels. Disappointed Renault didnt tweak the engine a tad to match the exterior aggressive styles. Nonetheless always a big fan of the 'big butts' _2:

Well photn,

Glad you've now come to love the Renaults! haha

Yes, the F1 is a VERY nice machine. I've been lucky enough to have a nice long conversation with an owner of one (his car was infront of mine on the way down south)

I can assure you, they look MUCH hotter in person. I freaked when I saw it fly past me in the opposite dirrection, so I did a U-turn and gave chase.

I've also had the pleasure to drive a 225 Cup 5 door (identical, just 2 more doors!... and a different rear window profile) through the royal national park up near hornsby (Thanks Gavin from Waitara - Northshore Renault!)

I can only say one thing.... THEY FLY. What a joy to drive. Overtaking power was unbelievable. I was shocked. Gavin was awesome though, and was always edging me to push the car further, and boy did it pull on whilst overtaking on the other side of the road! Gearbox and brakes are sweet too (gearbox reminded me of the Fiesta...)

Open sweeping bends it would munch anything... but in the tight corner where my Clio would just shine, the Megane understeered. That wasn't impressing me, as I love the chuckability (hehe) of the Clio, and the ability to just throw it at corners like a go kart.

Would I buy one? Hell yea, especially the new Phase 2 Megane!

CLIO:
Yea, the 182 has been deleted from the range (production finished last year.... I got one of the last ones :P). I've been told by dealers not to expect the 197 within the next year, as UK's demand has been quite high. Like the Pug 206 and 207, a base model Clio X65 (model of the current clio) will be sold alongside the new Clio3. This is the 1.4L Clio Campus, on Renault's website.

So yea, don't expect the new Clio so soon. We were supposed to have seen the new Clio sometime this year... but as we approach the end of the year the future isn't looking promising

The number corresponds to the power output in BHP.

Thats not true. Firstly its was ment to be the PS(Metric Horsepower) output and the engines on the clio didn't meet the target. The 172 had 124kw which is 166HP and 168PS. The 182 had 131kw which is 175HP and 178PS.

In comparison the megane fits the target perfectly

WOW With those pixs Teki think i would prefer either F1 or 225 Cup. Those seats look luxurious and the rims are Yummy.'

On a side note did AUS get any V6 Clio's, Ive seen alot of vids on them and its a MONSTER but turning circle is a bit meh

It's looking better in some of those angles, but I still don't like the back, it looks awkward. But the front & interior has grown on me a little.

Nope. Non in Australia that anyone knows of.

Yea, turning circle is impractical on my car too... 10.7m! Considering the Fiesta is bigger and achieves 9.6... Oh well!

As for those luxurious seats. Too bad we don't get them here! We just get the standard RenaultSport '225 Cup' seats.
