Hi guy's,
I have an AU3 Sedan 6 cyl, Low, No climate control that has lost the backlight to the clock. Can some one advise me of a possible cause (Fuse/Globe??) if globe, how to remove radio surround panel that houses the clock, (assuming globe is fitted to clock.) Thanks in advance Gregtomfred. |

yeah, the clock uses the same bulb as the odometer.
there was a workshop article on how to change this.. don't know where though. but it is just a standard twist in / twist out bulb. buy from ford, about $4 each or so.

Wow, I come on here going to post this same thread, coz mine hasn't had a light behind the clock since I got it, kept forgetting about it until I asked dad who used to own an AU3 ute whether or not its meant to be lit and he told me it was.
Interested to know how to change the globe once I've got my hands on one, will have a bit of a search around the forum/site.

When you find out how please post. I realise that I need to remove the radio, and also need to make 2 wire tools to do this, BUT BUGGER me if I can get the radio to slide out, ran out of time, so put it on the back burner for nowm but still would like a light in the clock, and I am not going to pay Ford's exorbinet charges to do it. The globe is available from Ford ($4-5, small twist & fit?) |

Take a small screwdriver and remove the rear demister switch bezel by prying it gently loose. With the bezel loose, reach in and push the clock forward so it comes out. the globe is a twist out type and is best removed with needle nose pliers. The globe is about $5-$12... depending on the globe that is in it. |
