That is a great idea, I would definetly look at getting one depending on price and such.

I hate getting blocked in in carparks, I once got blokced in by a yaris that managed to park so close to me I couldn't even open my door.

Gets rid of the B pillar?

So you get a cool door which ensures you cant get blocked in AND your car gets converted to a coupe!

Would hate to think of the weight increase though.

Very nice. I wonder why the super luxos haven't taken this on board.

I can just imagine the wife complaining about me not opening the door for her.

smart idea, It would have to be expensive or the inventer has refused to sell the idea on to a major manufacturers . Because i doubt one of them have been willing to do it.

Looks awesome. I was expecting something like the door on a van lol. If the door jams or the motor goes we'll get to climb in and out Dukes of Hazard style :P

You would have to think that the design is good, but any door reliant on electric or hydralic power, and is totally reliant on the maintenance of body shape (ie wont be able to slide under if car is crumpled), would be somewhat risky is situations like crashes, floods, driving into a body of water etc etc.

hahahaha - what a hoax!!! If the door doesn't go under the car and does not go under the seat where does it go?????? Think about it - if the seats are bolted to the floor how can a door fit under there???? Look at the video - the door disappears into the sill somewhere!!! Good trick camera work!!!!

if it slides under the floor that esentially drags the painted side door (or side of your car) under the car where there are god knows what rises and falls in the ground under your car for it to pick up scratches and dents, and if it slid into a cavity in the floor of the car can anybody say effin' heavy nice idea but in todays world of fuel efficiency and weight saving it would have to be light (equal to existing swinging doors) and yes there is the rain issue, and what if it become stuck open, or some idiot decided to drive around with the doors open? sorry but I prefer gullwing doors to that

I’d avoid clicking on the “Technical” link on this site. It has a virus called JS/Redir.
