Default Scammers everywhere!
Im currently selling an xr8 and Im shocked at the amount of scammers out there. They email you and say their interested in the car and then you reply and they write back saying they are a marine engineer etc and arent in the country and please provide paypal details so they can pay! Just makes me wonder how these thieving devils sleep at night. I can't even work out how the scam works or even how some people would fall for it! anyone had any of these emails??

I get about 4 a day.

Gets rather annoying after a while.

Yeah, she's an old scam been around for quite a while - there have been a few threads on it in the past. See this thread

Doesn't seem to be much that Carsales have done about it...as it is obviously still going on.

there isn't much they CAN do. in fact, there's bugger all. How do you block every email address from sending enquiries? if they block all other countries from accessing carpoint/carsales they'll just use a proxy, which if they have a clue, they already are

eBay is just as bad for it now.

ive only had 1 scammer email but ive had literally hundreds of time wasters texting offering half price and they "HAVE CASH BRO"........... the joys of selling a STI
