how much would EL XR6 cost?

prices of these cars are so wacked seen some for 10k others for 5k but weres the middle ground for these. I know the Manual version would be lil more just try and get a ball park figure for a EL XR6 with the tickford bodykit

well this may sound strange but i am kinda scared of the V8 and i may use way too much fuel with it. i like the I6

5-7k for something average, 180+kms, manual or auto. 8k+ for something taken care of and lowe kms is what I have been seeing.

I would think that with 8k cash you will be able to get an awesome ELXR6 but with another 6K you could get a BA Fairmont

i mean, i'm going to be selling my EL XR6 (5spd genuine manual) in a few months. Now whilst I know what I'd like to sell it for, it just depends if the right buyer comes along i guess...

well i a replacement for my Wrecked EF Mont so i would like to get a EL XR6 like i have seen some low as 5k and high as 10k but un-thrashed cars are hard to come by and most dont have the full tickford bodykit which i desire on it but with the big wing not the lil 1

i wouldnt mind gettin a BA but it all depends how much i get from the dude that hit me after legal action has taken place

There are nice ones out there, just be patient and last nov I got a 97 EL XR6 with genuine body kit and optioned with a few extras for a very reasonable price and less than 120K.

Just keep a eye out.

Take the time to attend a couple of auctions , el's go from $500.00 driveable up to 4k or so unless spotless , personally I prefer to buy a cheaper car and do as I wish knowing it's done my way , I recently bought an ef at the auctions for $400.00 , we spent $900.00 getting it roadworthy and the kid across the road is wrapped.. about 260k and drivers perfectly on gas. ( was fitted)
It can be done if you are handy and remember they are getting pretty old these days

Yeh sure. Dont even worry about the fact you almost doubled his budget, but just think, for another 5-8k you could get an XR6T!! I mean why doesnt he just do that? :togo:

been there only complaint i got with Ebay is the price of them go up and up and most are in Qland not Victoria

just out of cruisostiy how much is my wreck worth still has most of its gear cept taillites, front bar, headlight and indercator and its wing removed but all is still here including EL grille and EF monty bonnet

Thats about right.

5k for an average car with not many options - 150,00km+

10-11k for a mint Manual with bodykit/options and under 150,000km

Why? The power difference between the two isn't very obvious.

Its not like you'll jump in the XR8 and say "wow this is much faster". The main difference is the 8 sounds better but drinks more fuel.

thats preety much why i am gonna stick to the Six. Well i got scared after 88XF took me out in his EL Ghia V8! if a XR8 comes at the right price then i may consider it then again the price of Petrol these days

the el xr6s were quicker untill the el2 185 came along...

i have both and am looking at selling the six and its got 156k on the clock in regency red full tickford kit 5 speed man, pacies kn pod 2.5inch exh.

True, EB/EF/early EL XR6s were quicker to 100kph than the XR8s, not much in it though, both motors are pretty tame from the factory.

There is huge potential in both obviously.

whilst im not selling it now. it is something im doing in a few months time (and i guess if the right offer comes ill do it sooner).

but it has been very well looked after.

The 1 thing it has going against it (which isn't a real flaw but it scares people) is it has done 305,xxx kms.

Now to give you an idea of how it's been looked after, the Diff is still nice and tight which I think is a rareity (unless you get one rebuilt of course).

I bought mine early this year for 11k with factory 5spd, dual airbags and only 117,xxx on the clock.
The only downside is it had the standard 15"alloys and only the front lip.
Since then ive managed to snag the rest of the genuine kit on ebay for $225.
