I am a bit skeptical that the dills that control our collective destiny's(religious, political, or others) will grow brains , and i agree totally some dudes will never stop fighting, but we live in hope.

The way the Allies handled the aftermath of WWI had a big influence on the beginnings of WWII

It's pretty amusing though, considering the XR8 next year will be reborn with the same spec engine as the FG GT, could you imagine being a HSV owner forking out all that money on a brand new GTS, then pulling up to the lights next to a FH XR8 and then sitting side by side all the way to 100 and beyond
Even more embarrasing would be the lower spec variants of the VF in HSV's stable getting whopped by a factory XR8.

Could be worse imagine being somewhere like the Gaza strip and having fighter jets bombing your house and family every day.

Or Palestinian militia firing rockets indiscriminately at Israeli homes, businesses and streets.....

Difference is they are terrorists so you don't expect them to value human life.

That's a prime example of one of those conflicts that will never end.

"Palestinian militia".
IMHO as someone who has visited the Middle East and has Jewish lineage, Israel has one of the most sophisticated military in the world. The Palestinians have civilians firing home made rockets. To compare them as equals is laughable, but as has been said for a long time;" in war truth is the first casualty"(Aeschylus525 BC - 456 BC)

Yes we are so lucky living in Australia, many living here have NFI about history.

Funnily enough I'm pretty sure the British Empire was responsible for that for that whole mess too.

Funnily enough the British Empire was responsible for Australia’s early history. To lay what Australia has become at the feet of the British Empire seems to dismiss what the rest of us have been up to.

Similarly in the Middle East, the British Empire tried to make the best of a bad situation. To suggest what the Middle East has become is directly a response to the actions of the British Empire sixty years ago, is drawing a long bow IMHO.

Two different things.

What's that got anything to do with the ongoing conflict in the Middle East?

Hence the term "Militia"

What an interesting concept, allow rockets to be fired indiscriminately onto your citizens and just sit on your hands.

In reality it is on topic because what happened in the lead up to WWI can easily happen in the Middle East dragging the world into another major war.
